There's something about finding the perfect leather jacket that pretty much feels like you've discovered your soul mate. That's exactly how we felt when we found Francis Leon, a label founded in 2010 and based in London, by way of Australia. Mixing Japanese cotton, neoprene, sportmesh and other sleek performance fabrics with supple Italian leather is their signature. Talk about an global sensation! We love their cheeky attitude and the cool way they find inspiration in in the pages of old superhero comic books, in the manifesto of the Italian Futurists, and in the systemic strength of urban landscapes and fast machines. A leather jacket is a must-have wardrobe investment for every woman, but we consider a jacket by Francis Leon is an investment in life.

Fashion Feed - Stories of the Week

1. SO many stunning looks on the red carpet, but we had to agree with this Golden Globes best dressed list. Running into Emma Stone at Nobu in LA a few days later kind of sealed the deal for us too. (via Harper's Bazaar)

2. Spring is all about longer skirts so we're starting early with this maxi skirt primer. (via

3. Men's fashion weeks hit London and Florence and the streets got decidedly more dapper. (via

Get the Look - All Layered Up

This is a super chic look for winter. I love pairing grey and camel together and Dutch blogger Lucy de Boer has it down to a tee. Easy separates, all layered up. It’s such a luxurious colour combo. Here's how to get the look:

This classic grey pea coat by Joseph is perfect, and even better layered with our favourite Clu cashmere cardigan.

Wear the layers over a charcoal t-shirt and skinny jeans. We love this one by ATM Anthony Thomas Melillo and Etienne Marcel's moto pants in faded black denim couldn't be more fitting for this look.

RB Inspiration - Citrus and Stripes

It's that time of year where we have full respect for our winter wardrobes but can't wait for spring. We've been feeling inspired by Australian line Camilla and Marc lately as their diffusion line C&M Swim pre-Spring collection just arrived. Something about dreaming of a tropical retreat – or taking one! – feels so right when wearing citrus fruit and stripes. They're even better together. Shop C&M Swim here.

Day in the Life - Shannon Heth, Director at Heth PR

Shannon Heth is a constant source of inspiration. She's a mother (with baby number 2 on the way!), the founder and director of a successful lifestyle PR agency in Vancouver, Heth PR, finds time to write travel and art pieces for local magazines, and she does it all with enviable style. We love how she isn't afraid of colour, or turning heads, and she has mastered the art of the bold accessory. Plus, her shoe collection is insanely amazing!

We wanted to find out what an average day in Shannon's busy life looks like, so just before the holidays she gave us the inside scoop.

7:30 am: Wake to the sound of my son calling for me. It's the best alarm I could ask for.
8:30 am: Coffee, breakfast and a mad scramble to get out the door. I've got a full day ahead and won't be back home until close to 10 in the evening so I need to wear something comfortable that will easily transition from day to night. I decide on a Clu Too grey sweater dress with white pleats, black tights, a Loft 82 vest and my Tibi cobalt blue coat.
10 am: Meeting with my team to run through the week's questions and last minute planning before our office closes for the holidays. We discuss current and upcoming campaigns, results, and reporting.
11 am: Another meeting, this time with my business advisor to chart out my goals for next year. When you run your own business it's essential to have someone who can objectively listen and comment on your fears, hopes and plans and provide you with guidance. I leave feeling rejuvenated and excited for 2015.
12:30 pm: A quick stop at Meat & Bread for takeout porchetta sandwich. Their first location is dangerously close to my office.
1:45 pm: An appointment with my doctor. I'm due to have my second baby in February!
2:30 pm: I'm the only pregnant woman in the Signature Liquor Store on Cambie, here to pick up a few client gifts and bubbly for weekend Christmas parties.
3:30 pm: I pop into Chocolate Arts to check in on a magazine interview. Chocolatier Greg Hook and his wife Patricia are one of our newer clients and we've been keeping them busy with media requests and appearances. I grab a chocolate shot to go. (How can I resist?)
4:15 pm: Back in the office I crank the holiday tunes as my team and I sit down to sign Christmas cards. This year we're sending out marshmallows from Chocolate Arts as thank you's to all of our fabulous media friends and clients.
5-6:30 pm: I catch up on emails, review and approve and couple of press releases and finish up a new business proposal. Being a mom has taught me to be incredibly efficient with my time.
7 pm: I tuck into the bar at Ciopinno's to await the arrival of a good friend who also happens to be a VP at a very large PR agency in town. We try to meet up at least three times a year to talk work, life and balance.
9:30 pm: I arrive home and check email one more time before winding down for the night. My son has long been asleep but I sneak in to catch one last look at him before going to bed.
