Sometimes the chicest element of an outfit is the simplicity of an item. T-shirts are a classic wardrobe staple and just so easy to wear. Toss one on with jeans and heels for a night out, or slip a sleeveless tee under a suit jacket for that power lunch meeting. T-shirts are the most versatile thing a woman can own. So when building your wardrobe, keep these five essentials in mind.
1. THE CLASSIC CREW NECK
We love a classic crew neck t-shirt in black as it's guaranteed to go with everything. It's also the easiest way to transition into evening. The split back on this A.L.C. Tesi Linen Tee ($150) ups the ante on details, but the beauty of the simple, fitted tee remains.
2. THE STRIPED T-SHIRT
An essential part of a "cool girl" wardrobe, a striped tee goes a long way in any wardrobe. Top it with a leather jacket for Kate Moss-inspired style. Wear with ripped skinnies and sneakers on the weekends. You really can't go wrong. Add a little feminine detail like the lace trim on this Clu Tie Back Ruffle Top ($145) to make it your own.
3. THE BASEBALL TEE
This retro look has come back in a big way with the athleisure trend making waves in our everyday outfits. It has a laid back, tomboy feel that we love, but add a few statement accessories and a jewelry and it's a nice juxtaposition in an otherwise feminine look. You'll wear it way more than you think. We love: Être Cécile's Native New Yorker Baseball Tee ($132).
4. THE SLEEVELESS T-SHIRT
Whether it's a classic tank, racer back or sleeveless muscle tee, a casual underpinning is an essential in any woman's wardrobe. Wear it all alone in the summer and layer it up in the fall. Grab one in a punchy print like this Être Cécile Camo Cloud Tank ($116) for a subtle statement.
5. THE GRAPHIC TEE
We love the boyish feel of a graphic t-shirt. Whether it's a rocker print or slogan tee we guarantee it'll go with everything. Top with a blazer or a leather jacket and finish off with heels for the ultimate date night outfit. Have we mentioned we love Être Cécile? Here's another beauty from their collection, the Native New Yorker Tee ($108).

As hardworking professionals, we value any free time we may have and like to make things as easy for ourselves as possible. When we have afterwork plans, we don't always have the chance to rush home to change before we head out for cocktails with our girlfriends.
Luckily for you, we have put together a set of looks that can be easily taken from day to night, eliminating that extra step from your already busy schedule!
Some of the pieces below are in store only but if you would like to try any of them on please give us a call and we will be happy to put your size aside!
Our first piece is this amazing Tibi jumpsuit (seen on fashion blogger Aimee Song of Song of Style). For a daytime look, we love it dressed down with a great pair of sneaks and worn overtop of a button down. It's professional yet still ridiculously cool. To take it up a notch in the evening, throw on a bold lip and your favourite heels and you are good to go!
is that they are practical and comfortable, while still being incredibly stylish. To dress them down for appropriate daytime wear, pair them with a great blazer and flats. For nighttime events try them with one of our wardrobe essentials, the leather jacket.
Bonus: they are on sale!
A couple of weeks ago we talked about how skirts of all hemlines are on trend this season. Not only does this give us more style choices, but it makes it infinitely easier to take an outfit from day to night.
This pleated midi skirt from Derek Lam 10 Crosby is great with an over-the-shoulder tied sweater and sneaks. For an uber chic evening look, pull your hair back, throw on some jewels and those sky-high heels. Remember: the higher the heel the closer to heaven.
We love how the subtle detailing on this blouse matches perfectly with the skirt, both by Rhie. For a sexy evening outfit, undo a couple buttons, throw on some statement earrings, and pull back your hair in a middle part. Add a cardigan and some neutral heels for preppy office attire.
If you have questions about any of the pieces mentioned above, including style advice, please don't hesitate to contact us! xo
No longer reserved solely for a walk down the aisle, lace is making a huge appearance this season in all shapes and forms.
This summer we are seeing an array of wearable lace items for the everyday woman. From blazers to skirts, and everything in between, we can’t help but feel a sense of regained sophistication. Some of our favourite items this season have subtle lace detailing that brings some sexy peek-a-boo elements to an ensemble. We are also completely in love with the fully lace pieces not only because they are beautiful, but because they are timeless and won't ever go out of fashion. Whether it’s a romantic accent to an outfit or an overall look, rest assured that your look will be effortlessly elegant.
It is the epitome of femininity. There is nothing like a little lace to make us feel like a lady!
Brand new spring arrivals from Iro, A.L.C., Clu, TOME, and more, are now in store! Please call us if you would like to put anything aside for you to come in and try on! xo
In 1926, Wharton School of Business economist George Taylor coined the theory known as the “Hemline Index”. The Hemline Index describes the relationship between the economy and hemlines, in which the length of women’s skirts are an indicator of stock market potential. In other words: the shorter the skirt the better the economy. Well, we are sorry to inform you Mr. Taylor, but we will have to refute your claim because we are seeing skirts of ALL lengths for spring 2015. While it is true that in past years mini or maxi skirts have been the ‘it’ skirt for that particular season, we are seeing a newfound appreciation of all hemlines. Women rejoice!
There is just something about a great skirt that makes us feel feminine and gives us that boost of confidence to help us look and feel our best. Not only are there no rules to follow when it comes to skirt length this spring, we are seeing a wide range in style, shape, and colour. Some of our go-to patterns, such as florals and stripes are classics and are always popular for spring; however, it would be an understatement to say that sheer is hot right now. What we love about a sheer skirt is that they are so sexy and yet still sophisticated. Whatever your favourite style is, trust that it will be on trend.
As summer is quickly approaching, we are getting our closets ready for the warm weather ahead of us. Summer is the time for us to live in the moment and be carefree, an attitude that we try to replicate when choosing our wardrobes. We don’t want to fuss about our outfits, we want easy pieces that are soft and light, while still being chic and giving us cool-girl street credit.
It is now time to tuck away our cashmere *tear*, tweed, and merino wool, and pull out pieces that are open wovens or lightweight in nature. Certain fabrics, such as linen, cotton, and ramie, are great choices for those hot summer nights because they are breathable, keep us looking fresh, and can still be layered without feeling too heavy. The best part is that they are also transitional pieces that can be worn into fall and winter, layered under our sweaters and coats.
While we will only stop wearing black when they make a darker colour, we like most of our summer attire in whites, neutrals, and pastel hues. Shop some of our favourite summer easy breezy looks here!
